All skilled homes provide activities, but there is so much more to life than programmed activities.
Elders do love movies, BINGO, and sing-a-longs, but programmed activities do not fill the emptiness of our lives. The key is to provide activities that are rich in engagement and meaning.
Mission takes into account the residents’ life history, likes and dislikes, work history, hobbies, religion, and values when creating activities.
Mission nursing communities also take into account cognitive and functional abilities. We focus on abilities, not disabilities. Mission activities are designed to help alleviate loneliness, helplessness, and boredom.
Our homes incorporate plants, animals, children, variety and spontaneity.
Some Activities Include
art classes, cooking classes, drum circles, music and memory, outings, reading groups, socials, sensory programs, parties, BBQ’s, pets, and youth groups….and that is only a small portion of what we provide!
We even provide your loved one with their simple daily pleasures. That one little thing that we need each day to make it a little bit sweeter.
