Hurricane Rehabilitation Center

Hurricane Rehabilitation Center specializes in the care of residents. We provide 24-hour skilled nursing, specialized wound care, pain management, physical, occupational and speech therapy. We accept short or long-term admissions. Founded in 1990 as a community-based nonprofit company, we are dedicated to caring for people with problems related to aging.

Situated in a safe, attractive neighborhood, Hurricane Rehabilitation Center is conveniently located and easy to get to from anywhere in the Southern Utah area. The facility offers a safe and secure location, tastefully landscaped for residents to visit and walk through. The mature trees and quiet setting often elicit warm memories for many residents who grew up in the area. During the warmer months, the courtyards and pathways provide wonderful areas for exercise and conversation. Outings are often planned to local places, including city tours, theaters, and our surrounding lakes, mountains and other historical sites around our area. More frequently, walks through the neighborhood and community shopping trips occur. With our regular scheduled activities another new event is always just around the corner.

At Hurricane Rehabilitation, senior adults who are manifesting difficult behaviors are cared for by staff specially trained in the area of Alzheimer's disease. The facility is able to provide complex medical services, comprehensive therapies, and restorative nursing. Residents' diversity and individuality are recognized and encouraged. All efforts are designed to enhance their enjoyment of life to the highest degree possible.

Life at Hurricane Rehabilitation Center focuses on creating a lifestyle residents can enjoy. With a commitment to constantly improving the environment and services offered, the center strives to educate staff with methods and techniques aimed at better serving this special population. We are committed to give residents the most rewarding and comfortable life they possibly can. There is a strong commitment to build and strengthen the sense of community through support for each other among residents, staff and volunteers.

Award-Winning

Hurricane Rehabilitation Center is one of 92 long term care facilities in 28 states that have earned the American Health Care Association's (AHCA) Quality Award for demonstrating its strong commitment to continuous quality improvement.

Hurricane Rehabilitation Center has received an AHCA/NCAL Step I Quality Award. All of the facilities that applied for this award addressed how they integrated the elements of systematic continuous quality improvement into their operations. As a Step I recipient, West Jordan Care Center or Hurricane Rehabilitation Center demonstrated its organization-wide commitment to a customer-focused facility mission, defined its principal customers and their expectations, and indicated ways that it is striving to meet their needs.

"The AHCA/NCAL Quality Awards are the most prestigious recognition of quality within the long term care profession," stated AHCA/NCAL President and CEO, Bruce Yarwood. "This facility's achievement places it at the forefront of organizational and performance excellence, where the mission of exceptional care for the elderly and disabled is vigorously pursued."

Hurricane Rehabilitation Center achievement shows that dedicated frontline caregivers, administrators, nurses and physicians are demonstrating their commitment to quality of care and meeting patients' needs," continued Yarwood. The Quality Awards are part of AHCA Quality First, an initiative to demonstrate the long term care community's commitment to a person-centered environment of quality and choice.

AHCA/NCAL's Quality Award is modeled after the criteria of the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award, the nation's premier award recognizing distinguished achievements. AHCA/NCAL's award is designed to support both continuous quality improvement efforts in long term care by promoting quality awareness and education and to recognize quality achievements.
